6:00 Meet in the CLHS Commons to tag all luggage, check photo IDs, hand out final itineraries & answer any final questions. Group supperGroup meeting time with chaperone group. Exchange cell phone numbers as needed. 7:30 Final review of details, depart to return home to pack – return to the school at 2:00 a.m. on the 5th.
Tuesday, June 5
2:00 Meet at high school circle drive & load buses
2:30 Depart for Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport
5:00 Flight & security check in
6:15 Get quick breakfast at the airport
6:45 Board flight
7:20 Delta Flight #1464 departs for Washington, D.C.
10:45 Arrive at Reagan Nat’l Airport & meet tour bus. Load bus & drive into Washington, D.C.
12:00 Lunch @ Roy Rogers in Alexandria, VA
1:30 Arrive at Mount Vernon (George Washington’s home)
4:30 Drive through tour or Old Town Alexandria, VA
5:00 Supper @ Bugsy’s Pizza in Alexandria, VA

11:30 Meet the Secret Service @ the East Executive Entrance of the White House for VIP Tour
1:00 Meet bus to drop near the Capitol for VIP Tour
1:25 Tour U.S. Capitol
2:45 Visit the House & Senate galleries
4:00 Tour of Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, FDR Memorial & Jefferson Memorial
5:00 Meet bus to transport to Phillips Flagship Restaurant for supper
7:00 Meet bus to transport to the Kennedy Center

11:15 Lunch @ Fudruckers
12:30 Tour of National Archives
2:00 Tour of Ford’s Theatre & the Petersen House
4:30 Arrive @ Holocaust Museum for tour
6:30 Supper @ Pentagon City Mall
7:30 Meet bus for dusk tour of D.C. including the WW II & Marine Memorials

9:00 Tour of Arlington National Cemetery, the changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Kennedy Grave sites, Robert E. Lee’s plantation home, the Custis-Lee Mansion, & the African-American Cemetery section @ Arlington
CLHS students are not laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier this year

1:30 Metro to the Nat’l Mall & begin small group tours of selected museums in the Smithsonian Complex
5:30 Meet bus outside of the Air & Space Museum on the Mall side. Travel to Williamsburg, VA

10:00 Bus drops group @ hotel.

2:15 Leave Petersburg and drive to Washington, D.C.

Parent Updates WE HAVE APPLIED TO LAY A WREATH AT THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWNS AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY.
Unfortunately we have been denied the opportunity to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. I am currently trying to obtain permission through Congressional assistance. (11/25/13)
